A long industrial history

The Salin-de-Giraud production site in the heart of the Camargue Regional Natural Park has a long and rich history. Initially intended for soda manufacture from Camargue salt and chalk, the Salin-de-Giraud factory, built in 1895 by Solvay, gradually diversified its activities throughout the 20th century.

The fine chemistry business started at the site in the early 1980s and the factory has been producing pharmaceutical active ingredients in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) since 1996.

Since 2013, and its takeover by the M2i group, the site’s activities have extended to pheromone production (for biological crop protection) while maintaining GMP production of pharmaceutical active ingredients.
